Thread: Alternative Cabaret Charity Night Swansea - Performers Wanted

Later this year (Summer/Autumn) I will be organising an Alternative cabaret night entitled "Psycho Dave & Fiends" - the proceed would be for charity, and I am looking for some unusual acts who will perform for free (everyone will be performing for free on this night) = I am the Psycho Dave" in question, I am an alternative character comedian - a dark, gothic but lovable serial killer = I want this show to be the most entertaining, unusual, strangest show swansea has ever seen - it will be filmed by a professional cameraman (who works for BBC Wales & S4C) - so anyone performing can get a decent video of their act - I'd like to include some burlesque dancers and anything a little different. As this is a charity show and the acts would be donating their services, it would be best if those interested didn;t live too far away from Swansea. Anyone interested get in touch, and if you have a link to a youtube video of your act that would help - anyone wanting to see my comedy stand up as Psycho Dave should check out the video on my profile - you'll get an idea from that how "different" I'd like the show to be

It might help attract performers if you mention which charity you are raising money for.

I want to do it for this year's Children In Need, as long as there aren't any objections to such an alternative type show raising money for the charity - As I would like it to be a part of the Swansea Fringe,which would mean an Autumn show. I should also say that the filming of your act would be optional, the camera-man is there to film my act, but another act who would be doing the show asked if they could be videod to use as a showreel - so the offer is there. I used to run comedy nights for children In need in Swansea in the Past but I want to do something very different now, I'm getting bored with the usual stand-up

I need one more Burlesque dancer - the show, which is an Alternative Cabaret, will be held at the end of October / begining of November (actual date to be confirmed shortly) - It will be part of The Swansea (Dylan Thomas) Fringe - All the money raised will be given to children In Need, so there is no payment for any of the acts - But if the night is a sucess then it will lead to future paid Alternative Cabarets. I am also looking for any unusual acts, male or female, could be comedy or magic etc.

I was in the monkey bar few weeks ago with the haggis horns, awaiting confirmation but if all goes ahead plans are to be in there
