Scarlet Fever presented....another blooming fantastic show!
Ok bear with me - it's a long post again, but I don't want to miss anything out about how fantastic and fun Scarlet's show on Saturday night was....
There are certain people who have that certain something, a star quality - and Crimson Skye is most definitely one of them. She has such amazing presence on the stage and works the audience so brilliantly. Her rendition of 'I saw Mummy killing Santa Claus....' and her Playboy Bunny brought the house down and were just sheer genius. (And I actually managed to have Christmas Ed in my arms at one point! Wow!). Her facial expressions, her ability to mix massive sex appeal with real slapstick humour....Genius. I loved watching various blokes faces in the audience as she ran out brandishing a large knife to get a snog....you could almost see thought bubbles appear over their heads "pick me!......no, you've got a knife!....still pick me!"
Crimson was the first ever proper burlesque performer I ever saw at the start of this year, and she blew me away then and on Saturday night....oh, and at Dr Sketchy's Brum...get your tickets for the next fantastic one on Saturday 17th January now here - www.myspace.com/drsketchysbirmingham
Willow Blue again - so brill (I can tell I'm going to run out of superlatives by the end of this report) Such a professional - such presence - such confidence and sex appeal...and again, brilliantly executed humour. Just fab. Her sexy school mistress and dude (who after a bit of undressing and redressing did indeed look like a lady) went down a storm with the audience - many of whom were at their first ever burlesque show. And such a wonderful caring and supportive lady too. My hat is off to the woman....and occasionally dude
Delilah Dufoe too was fantastic! Using two songs that the audience loved and just like Crimson and Willow....having two very different personas/characters in each of her acts (the variety and range of acts during the evening was really exciting). Bad Medicine was fab....many of you will have seen it and know how it goes, but the reactions from the audience as they began to realise what was happening were just priceless. Though I have to admit, I loved her routine to (in my opinion) the ultimate version of Feeling Good by Muse (don't you go swearing at me and mentioning Buble, I'm right, you're wrong) It has to be one of the sexiest records ever and Delilah did it proud.
Angel LaVey was an absolute star. Performing two brand new festive acts she had us all in stitches....I now know the solution of what to do if I ever forget my fans! and you'll be relieved to know she wore the green knickers, and looked absolutely stunning in the whole green and red ensemble - Check out the photos on Candee Photography's myspace! But more than this - Angel is such an amazing person - so supportive to everyone behind the scenes...invaluable in helping to sort out the lighting before hand and offer bits of advice from everything she knows from both sides of the stage - a wonderful, wonderful woman! (Gehenna's a star too....thank you so much for walking me safely to the car and the lovely supportive comments throughout the night).
Bella Von Kiss - what a voice. Absolutely superb. A brilliant performer, stunningly beautiful to look at and to listen too...I almost forgot to get on with my job for listening to her sing. And again, a really sweet person, it was a pleasure to meet her.
Who else...I know I'm going on a bit, but I don't want to miss anything - how could I forget The Decadent Gent, who truly sparkled, and not just because of his crappy Woolworth Christmas lights. He handled the crowd so well, the nice heckles and one or two harsher ones - coping excellently with anything thrown at him.....even an easel. What a star!
Unsung heroes of the night had to be Vlad and Jacob. Poor Vlad, he was still dressed for the cruel Siberian winters, and instead he had to stand for most of the evening next to the world's hottest radiator - I swear at one point I saw his (fake) fur hat appear to revive and make a bolt for freedom towards the fire escape. Still he got to see lots of ladies removing their clothes at close proximity and what babushkas they had!! (if you're imagining the hand gestures I'm making right now, yes, you're right, that's exactly what I'm doing)
And Jacob doing the sound, and the lights, and moving scenery, fetching more equipment....doing everything to make the show run so smoothly that most people wouldn't have noticed any of this because of all his hard work. He was absolutely amazing and was the part of the show that made it run as smoothly as it did.
This was such a fun, fantastic show - the room, the seating, the sound and lights, the mix of audience who've seen it all before and loads who'd never done so before....and yet told me afterwards they can't wait to come again! It's such a fab venue and Scarlet and Tony put on such a brill varied line-up......
BASICALLY, WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY IS - YOU'VE GOT TO COME TO THE NEXT ONE! The line-up again is top notch - Diva Hollywood, Frivolitease, Ivy Wilde, Cecilia Rouge, Cherry Fox, Scarlet Fever and compered by The (superb) Decadent Gent.....and remember, the last two shows sold out way before the show date, so get your tickets now, or with the money your Aunty Flo gives you for Christmas so you don't miss out. It would be fantastic to have some more of the Midland MoBsters come along and see what all the fuss is about
and The Decadent Gent could do with some more quality heckling - CherryFox's "is it jam?" just didn't cut the mustard last night
BUY YOUR TICKETS TO FEB 21ST'S SHOW HERE! DON'T MISS OUT THIS TIME - IT'S GOING TO BE FANBLOOMINGTASTIC!! :excited:WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Tempest I do envy your eloquence and ability to say it how it is in such a lovely way!! Forgive my somewhat clumsy addition here - but wow!!!
What a night!!
Tempest - we must thank you too for your incredibly committed and wonderfully implemented role as stage manageress for the event. You hold everything together and I don't just mean the complicated logistics of the night (though you make it look so bloomin easy) its the way you support, encourage and tend to all the people involved in the night. Your santa hat twirling was such a giggle and you had a warm, charming and funny presence on stage that the audience immediately warmed to.
Scarlet and Tony - congratulations indeed for another rip roaring success - a testament to all the incredibly hard work, planning behind the scenes and discerning choice of performers - a real skill to pull off. Your care for your team and performers is fab and you are both so good at making sure everyone is happy, comfortable, fed and watered. I can't wait for the upcoming shows...
The Decadent Gent - despite being haunted by perhaps the only real ghost there that night (the heckle of "Its behind you" leftover from Silk Stocking) Matt was on splendid form. His skill in responding to the crowd; picking up and toying with their playful cajoling as well as his relaxed demeanour on stage were impressive - very well done Matt.
Jacob - what a soldier!! He ran around sorting camera equipment, lighting for the stage, organising the sometimes challenging technical set ups for each artist and DJing magnificently. he was really chuffed by how many people came up to him at the end of the night and thanked him. He is a wonderful, wonderful man but then I am biased
ops:
El Kapitan - a brilliant addition to the team who had me in fits of laughter every time he spoke. A lovely, gentle (but imposing) Russian giant!!
The performers were great.
Crimson Skye - This beautiful lady (inside and out) knows the art of stage craft and is a joy to watch perform. Her acts contain countless subtleties, wonderful little jokes, oodles of sex and it all adds up to a rivetting experience for the audience. Loved both of her acts for all the reasons above!!!
Crimson and I spent a fun morning doing a shoot inspired by 19th century Paris and Impressionism - so watch this space...
Willow - Laughed so much at her dude act; brilliant!! Still chuckling about it now...great characterisation and story development.
Bella Von Kiss - A velvet, effortless voice that soothed and inspired. Gorgeous and a really talented vocalist.
Delilah Defoe - Bad Medicine was great!! Superb choice of music for both acts. She looked at home on the stage and delivered 2 totally charming and assured acts.
Angel - Got all christmassy with both a new act and a variation on one of her balloon routines. Liked the incorporation of the christmas present unwrapping in her second act.
Darkteaser - For her Royal Bird Bath act a beautiful and rather exquisite costume with crown and garter made by Mia Von Monk whose work I love - she can be found at myspace.com/firemink
Well done to everybody involved!!!

Well i have to agree with all the posts here, an absolutely fantastic night enjoyed by all! I won't try and be all wordy and stuff (cuz im not good at that!), but it was a fantastic evening to be involved in! All the acts were superb, DG did a grand job and Tempest was outstanding too! (The santa hat twirling had me chuckling all the way home....or at least to the point where i fell asleep in the car :lol
. Muchos 'props' to Jacob for an excellent job with the sound and everything as well!
Haha!
Well i am glad that you found my little 'act' (and i use the term loosely here) entertaining. No doubt Vlad will be making an appearance at another event sometime in the future....keep them eyes peeled!

Thank you so much for your kind words (blushes). It's quite funny, a few of the audience came up to me afterwards and said they loved the santa hats twirling (hey, us larger ladies find it hard to find nipple tassels to fit sometimes!) and one bloke reckoned I reminded him of Peggy from Hi De Hi trying to win the burlesque equivalent of a yellow coat....I took this as the highest form of praise
I was smiling all the way home too....though as I was driving I thought it wise not to fall asleep...
I thoroughly recommend watching all the of the vids now up, the acts were just fab - but Angel's in particular is a joy to watch.....and has a bonus feature from 3.00-5.15.....you get to see me picking things up and lifting things on one the occasions when I didn't try to knock myself out or get poked by The Decadent Gent (I'm sure that's the last time Ditzy will let him out of her sight.....it was with his cane, honest.....oh dear, I'm digging myself one of those holes again aren't I......snigger)
I'll say it again everyone, you gotta be there on February 21st!The Russian Doll Lass - like Shrek's onion, but with sequins...

Is it biased to tell the truth then? Jacob was amazing and managed to make the task of sound technician look effortless. Believe me when I tell you that it's a really difficult job.
[QUOTE=Candee Handful;48287]Angel - Got all christmassy with both a new act and a variation on one of her balloon routines. Liked the incorporation of the christmas present unwrapping in her second act.[.QUOTE]
Whilst not wanting to appear difficult I feel that I have to clarify this point so that people do not get the wrong end of the stick about the routine. It's not a variation but it's interesting that you got that impression. Perhaps because I thought of them as seperate enties because the concept, stories and execution is very different not to mention the songs used. I guess it's easy sometimes to not notice similarities in your acts because of knowing the whole story and concept that you are trying to portray, but other people can notice the similarities from their veiw point.
I understand that the use of the same wig may have been confusing in this case. I don't really perform the other balloon dance anymore as it requires a lot of space because of the fact that I use around 40 balloons. It also takes forever and a day to set it up because I have to inflate all the balloons as well as putting the glitter inside them and them tying them onto my costume. This basically means that in order to perform it the venue needs to have wide doors and to have left enough space for me to walk to the stage.
The story with the original balloon dance is that the shouting in the song makes me go a bit mad and I pop about 10 balloons all at once each time that happens.
The new balloon dance story is that I'm doing a traditional fan dance as the Ice Queen, but I have forgotten to bring my fans so I fashion new ones out of balloons. Sadly balloons pop and I'm left with very little to try and cover up with.
I'm looking into a new wig but there was not time to get one before Saturday as they have to be made to order and shipped from Hong Kong. I'm also wondering if there are balloons that won't change colour under stage lights, the balloons I used were actually white but looked silver under the stage lighting. The make - uo I used was also white and looks silver in the photos so I guess that changed under the lights as well.
The photo's are fabulous and everyone should go and check them out. Also a huge thank you has to go to Candee for not only taking such fantastic pictures of the evening but also for the fact that she donated light bulbs for the stage so that the performers could be lit better on the stage. :twothumbs:

I don't really know what to add to all of that.....

I had an AMAZING nite i loved every minute of it and it would be unfair to single out any particular 'moment'.
Everyone who took part (you know who you are coz most of you have posted here) were FANTASTIC!!!!!!
I was blown away by all the performers and was in stitches of laughter most of the nite (yes that is who can hear on the videos ha
)
The best nite out i have had in such a long long time, i urge everyone whos hasnt got their ticket to buy one sharpish as no doubt it will be another sell out way before the next show on Feb 21st!!!!!!
I was so inspired by the show i took over 500 piccies!!!!! You will be glad i have managed to whittle them down to less than half that and the 1st 'batch' are on my facebook page.
I have spent quite a long time this afternoon 'playing around' with them and would be pleased with any feedback/comments!

A Massive thank you!!!
After an early night last night in order to recover from my big burlesque night on saturday i felt my brain has now recoverd enough to be able to write a BIG BIG thank you to all the wonderful people who made my Scarlet Fever presents burlesque night the huge success yet again!!!!!I never thought it would be possible to top the first show but it just goes to show you are only as good as the people you work with!!! The acts which graced our stage on saturday were so first class , the wonderfull crimson was such a delight and i felt so honoured i finally got to see some more of her amazing acts.
Willow blue what can i say!!! i love her, she is so nice and really funny especially after several bottles of wine we shared at the after show shin dig.
Angel lavey wow i really loved her two new acts, they were fab , this lovely lady certainly worked really hard on them and it really showed, and yet again the lovely angel came to my rescue with a concoction of remedies for my lingering bad back. thank you so much hunny x
Bella von kiss has the most amazing voice, it sounded even better than i rememberd which i never thought possible, the audience LOVED her and so did i, although she had a long journey home and had to leave just before the end, we mentioned the lovely bella in the finale and she received alot of applause and a massive big cheer!!
Delilah dufoe what this lovely lady cant do with her extremely imperssive breasts isnt worth knowing about!!! she was certainly red hot on saturday night wow hun what a sheer delight to watch!!
Darkteaser was so graceful and lit up the stage when she started her fan dance , the costume was amazing.
The decadent gent what can i say babe FANTABULOUS!!!! you are such a major part of our show we certainly wouldnt know what to do without you, very charismatic and such a delight to work with, its a shame that the delightful ditzy diamound couldnt make it and see her wonderful man at his best yet again.
Tempest devine what a woman i have so much respect and admiration for this georgeous lady, she is so expert at holding the night together, and so professional at getting everyone where they are supposed to be on time. We are so lucky to have such a Great maid at our event.
El Kapitan aka vlad!!!! The audience loved him and so did i he looked meacing in a friendly way i know that probably doesnt make sense, but it would if you had been there, he looked after the lovely ladies perfectly and kept me sane too, an incredible asset to our show and we would really like you to be a permant fixture of our night desides his russian accent was sooooo sexy (yum) !!!!

Although we didnt need your services on saturday night in the performance capacity, you are sure to have some great photographs of the lovely ladies getting ready upstairs in the dressing rooms!!! well done hunny i cant wait to see them. And have you grace our stage on 21st feb. x
And last but certainly not least!!!! The very very special jacob sabotig, (candee handfuls hubby) He was such a help it was unbelievable, he fetched, carried, plugged, played and anything else that needed to be done, without him i think i would have wrapped the speaker cables round my neck in frustration!!!!! there was so much to do in order to get the dj equipment ready but he was soooo cool and everything went without any hitches thanks to him, Jacob you were such a MASSIVE help!!!!!
