Apologies for the off-topic nature of this plug but most of you will be familiar enough with the man in question to understand the relevance.
Chris Gorman - the musical comrade of my alter-ego Lucille and other half of impish burlesque impresario Dolly Tartan (in both instances, he is long suffering!) - is frontman of his own music project, Gorman; 4 piece dark, alternative, indie rock.

Gorman have received the honour of being invited to represent Scotland at international music convention and festival, Japan Music Week, in Tokyo this November.

This is a hugely exciting opportunity for the band and may very well be the first rung on the ladder towards the fame and fortune they so sorely deserve.

But we need your help and support...the band have got to get out there first. To that end we are embarking on various fundraising events, including the upcoming Road to Tokyo gig (details below) So if you love Chris' music (or even if you would like to help make him a rock star in order that he can keep Dolly in the style to which she is accustomed!!!) then please read on to see how you can support the project. We will be forever grateful...

On the 3rd of September at The Vale in Glasgow, Gorman will play a very special home town performance featuring an extended set as well as a variety of special events throughout the night - the mist surrounding these will clear as we approach the night itself.

Tickets for this one-off night are £8 and will be available on the door. Support will be provided by our very good friends 'Revelry Thieves'.

With further special gigs and events in the pipeline in the run-up to Japan Music Week, the band would love for YOU to get involved . If you'd like more information about this and upcoming events, and if you'd like to sponsor them and help get them a little bit closer to Japan, please log onto the website, sign up to the mailing list and we'll let you know how you can help. Alternatively, click the Support button at www.gormanband.com to help us reach our target of £1500.
