Kabarett :: 2nd April, Voodoo Rooms :: Alternative Variety with Mr. Joe Black
Kabarett returns with a (Very) Good Friday edition of the Scottish capital's only Alternative Variety Show starring:
- Mister Joe Black -
Neo-vaudevillian, the real life Disney villain, gin-addled courtesan, anti-christ of cabaret and the one and only waltzing cynic. Eccentric to international stages, Joe Black takes to shows in an almost cartoon-esque theatrical assault, sweeping the audiences through an array of show tunes, ballads, and a rather varied but fine selection of morally questionable entertainment.
As well as regularly treading the boards of the sell out sensation that is the worlds biggest fetish club Torture Garden (London) Joe Black also hosts his own sell out residency in the lavish Edwardian Kings Theatre, in Hampshire.
"Dedicated, sweet-natured and uniquely gifted, Black is the new black" - Bizarre magazine
alongside male burlesque performer full-of-grace:
- Cherry Loco -
"Cherry Loco is hard to describe but if you think gender-bending glamour, epicene elegance, sedate striptease and dry wit, then you might get the idea. High camp and sophisticated, Cherry performs golden era style performances with theatricality." - Ministry of Burlesque- Andrew Learmonth -
"His great back-stage attitude and professional showmanship on stage make Cherry a vital asset in any show." - Blonde Ambition Events
& never a token 'bird' but a fine example of femininity to take on the boys and a rather delightful performer from the flaming deserts of The American South (via Heaven, Hell & Rockaburley!)
- Cat Aclysmic -
Renowned Scottish Comedian
Scottish Comedian of the Year Finalist
+ more comedy, spoken word artists to be announced & music from DJs Cat & Dee.
With Special Guest Hosts:
- The Creative Martyrs -
More acts will be announced.
This show will take place in the Speakeasy of the Voodoo Rooms with doors at 7.30pm for an 8.30pm start and with visual excitement, music, hanging out with the cast & crew and dancing til way after bedtime!
Entry is £7 on the door: limited advance tickets (+bf) tickets via Itsy's Kabarett with Mr. Joe Black - Eventbrite do RSVP via Facebook at: Log In | Facebook

My God! What are you doing putting Joe Black and Cherry Loco on the same bill?! Do you not realise that this means that there will be chaos and debauchery, the likes of which Edinburgh hasn't seen in a long while?
< Sounds of James running away and hiding as fast as his legs will carry him... >

I am slightly fearful, though it's about time Edinburgh got a dose of grand debauchery.
I plan to set The Creative Martyrs on a crash course in debauchery management to keep things under (some) control.
What a wondrous end to Holy week this night shall be

OOOOOOOOH! I was about to grumble about probably not being able to make this until I realised that I think I'll be off work on the 2nd AND the 3rd of April!
I get to see my beloved Martyrs and FINALLY see Mr. Black in the actual proper real flesh!!
Of course Mr. Loco is always a delight!
Marvellous, I'll start planning my outfit now...
