![]() People - if you haven't made it along to see the Britannia Panopticon itself, it's such a great building and it's restoration cause holds so much important history. Do your best to get to the Art Bar for this besides, Glasgow always offers a fun night with great community spirit.

Hi guys,
As a new member here I should introduce myself, nah... ![]() What a generally "great" night the Red Door was on Wednesday, as a virgin of the Glasgow Scene this was an eye-opener indeed and most of the acts were entertaining and professional, indeed the Welsh Lass was hiilarity personified... that barman will never be so cocky again... typical man and when I say man how could you compare Mr Buckfast to any other? Phoawarrrr...Like I say, overall great but for one complaint in that there was one amateur whom stood out and that was Ms Louvre Rouge or what-ever, a few wines too many and a pout to make many a man boke. I overheard a few comments and wonder why what was such a brilliant night otherwise was 'skid marked' with such a car crash performance, I say that singularly as I couldn't stand to watch the second... car wreck in progress. Ok so shoot me down for my honesty... Did Louvre Rouge sneak up from the burlesque class from the wonderful Viva without a ticket?

Hi Guys,
Well, thanks to everyone who attended on Wednesday, and as ever a huge thanks to ALL my fabulous performers and helpers - obviously can't do it without you! Yes Buck, of course you were fab. Egg-plant though? That's a new one on me ![]() It's been a while since I was on MoB ('normal' life has been rearing it's ugly head too much recently), but I was upset by Lady Ginger Beer's comments. I didn't remember MoB being quite such a platform for scathing remarks..... The idea behind the Red Door nights is to help raise funds for the Panopticon, provide a night of entertainment for the audience, and also provide a friendly, welcoming space for performers. It is not a night that is only open to 'professional' performers. As the organiser I appreciate everyone's contributions, because they all turn up, perform and put on a damn good show for next-to-no-money. Rouge is a beginner, yes. But she's not afraid to put in hard work to perform for a charity she supports, help out backstage when necessary, and generally has one of the sweetest personalities, both onstage and off that I've met. For only her 2nd performance, I was proud of her. It's so easy to sit in the audience and comment, snigger, or bitch about acts, but boy is it hard to actually get up there. I appreciate any constructive criticism, either of my nights or my own acts, but I do not appreciate personal attacks on my performers. So, thank you everyone for your comments, and I do hope that we'll be seeing you tonight ![]() Dolly x |
