The breathtaking show stars Brisbane's best burlesque artists, character commedians, tap dancers, standup comics, singers and circus folk. This is the real thing entertainment injected with a huge dose of wit, political play and social commentary. Forget cheap and nasty, sleazy bar shows without structure or purpose, this show is only for those prepared for some cerebral stimulation.....but make no mistake there is plenty of fun to be had, acts of extremely naughtiness to be comitted, it is certainly not for the weak of heart!

I'll be there, performing my two-minute-tease as well as a tap routine with my cute as pie sisters Miss Peppa Minx and miss mindi.

The show sounds fantastic! I have a little question for you. I am a Brissie girl but I've been based in the UK for some time now. I only really started into Burlesque since being over here.

I'm planning on heading home in a couple of years and would love to jump straight into the burly scene back home when I do. But I'm going to be the proverbial lost lamb when I do!

Is this fabulous sounding night quite a regular thing? And do you know if there are similar forums for oz/Brisbane for Burly performers to stay in contact, post jobs, etc?

The burlesque scene in Brisbane is thriving at the moment!
Miss Bertie Page hosts a monthly show at The Smokin Joynt and also a series of "Miss Bertie Presents" offerings.
Every few months, The RagTag Review puts on an amazing, sell-out show with a different theme each time.
Plus, there are plenty of one off gigs happening, and lots of demand from bands that want burlesque dancers at their shows.

I do Bellydance as well as Burlesque and my teacher mentioned she had a friend in london who did a blend of the two. Just thought it would be typical small world if it turned out to be you!

Hey! Just found you on this thread, too. I think your Brighton teacher might be referring to Baby Bones who is also in Brighton. She does belly dance (she's Turkish) and burlesque but not sure if she teaches both.

Have you heard of her?

Yes I have heard of Baby Bones, she's a friend on MySpace! I didn't know she did bellydance though.
