Hi honey
go for it I really love that song and I have been hogging it for a while and mine is not a circus act, its a seductive strip were she is obsessed with money and just wants more and more. Miss Blush use's the version done by Jessica Rabbit in the film which is much slower and a great version, I was going to swap till I found out about hers. I also use a mix of a track at the beginning of that strip that was made just for me, so it gives it a different edge.

The song is a classic cliche of musical theatre and so is ripe for satarizing in my opinion. It's often the case that what tickles one person will tickle thousands of others too - perhaps independently of one another, like a universal joke or sentiment.

'Burlesque' is about your interpretation of something and how you represent it in an absurd fashion.

It is however, always important to respect the professional space of others - whether they are a performer, venue or promoter etc. This is especially important when something has become heavily associated with the brand or image of another.

If you know someone else's toes might be tread on in any case over any matter, a chat with them directly is the only solution to avoiding later issues of bad feeling.

Why not try taking a different angle on the song from Rosie and see if that helps differentiate between you and keep up good feeling and working relationships?

I think Rosie and I are pretty much sorted on this one. I wouldn't have been so worried if I was going for a totally different angle but there is an unavoidable overlap. Her version is from the view of a vampiress and mine will be about the fetish club, but both will undoubtably include the words nipple clamps, etc.

Ahh tis all well. Except for me who is poorly so there's no words written yet, bleeeurgh
