More music!

I need to find a particular piece of music and wondered if any of you could help! Unfortunately being on the internet I can't hum it for you, and since I don't know what it's called I can't do a youtube and let you hear it (otherwise my problems would be solved!). It's a very distinctive and very well-known piece of organ music - the spooky creepy organ music you stereotypically get in horror movie spoofs. I'm sorry I can't be any more specific than that, but if anyone thinks they might have a tiny inkling of what I'm talking about please help! (It might be possible - all I said to my man was 'spooky organ music' and he hummed it - cue much head-scratching as he tried to remember the composer ...)

You probably mean Johann Sebastian Bach's famous Toccata, it's the third choice, yay, you didn't know that the witch was a culture vulture.

It's probably Toccatta and Fugue in D Minor by Bach - if you are planning to use it in a burlesque, do be careful how you play to it as it is (in no uncertain terms) a cliche in most places...

The other major pieces that are used in horror movies and subsequent parodies are:

O Fortuna - from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff
&
Dies Irae - from Verdi's Requiem by Verdi

These three are the classic pieces for Halloween etc - other than film scores... and the 'monster mash' naturally...

Oh I was planning to use it as a massive cliche anyway - but I'm sure I can find something more suitable. Thanks for the suggestions x
