Fat girls can't dance
This was a topic on this morning's The Wright Stuff. I found this very annoying as they were basically saying that if you were not all perfectly toned then you should not be allowed to dance as "when the body moves the flesh wobbles all over the place and you can't see the dance movement". What utter drivel! Dancing is meant to be a joy and a pleasure how dare these small minded individuals try to police it.

personally I like to see a little flesh wobbling...not to mention all that eating disorder stuff, as some owmen aren't made without an ounce of fat on their bodies! (I'm certainly not!)

Aaah!
I saw that too! Since when was flesh not a part of the body? To imply that flesh is NOT a part of the body is to encourage people (dancers) to reduce themselves to... skin and bone!! I was outraged at that utterly conservative, ridiculously unintelligent woman's comments. I might apply for a job as a chat show host if idiots like that are getting paid the money they are to talk such crap. Anyone else as mad as me? x

Never saw it, so I can't comment. But I do know that in all the many years that I competed at Latin & Ballroom, the bigger the person the more nibble and fleet of foot they were on the dance floor.
Nowadays, if I dance a shimmy, there's always an after wobble.

That is so rediculous, just reading this is getting me wound up, I'm so glad I had a nice long lie in on my day off or I'm sure I'd be ranting like mad right now.

What a stupid topic of conversation on a chat show! People can't bloody make up their minds! People are persecuted for being too fat, people are persecuted for being too skinny - what are we meant to be!??!?!
My sister is quite a big girl and when we go on a night out and go for a boogie on the dancefloor she attracts so much attention and people love her! What are they going to do!? Measure your waist size to see if you're allowed into a club!?! Grrrrrrrrrrr!!!!! >

fat girls can't dance? Whatever. I know skinny lasses who can't. Since when was dancing weight restricted? Doesn't Mika's new music video for 'Big Girls' Prove that we can?
That Wright show is known for controversy, anyone remember the Ulrika rape incident?
I'd much rather see a girl having a good time dancing than being miserable on the sideline.
I stick up two fingers to whoever says different. I've never been told to stop dancing because I'm fat and would never tolerate anyone who tells me to.
Sorry sore subject.
