Please show your support...
As many of you know on August the 3rd, I sadly lost my brother Alan to an awful industrial disease. Asbestosis. What kept him going in his final months was his dedicated and endless campaigning to overturn the decision to stop people claiming for asbestos which came into force in 2007.
'Plural Plaque' which is the beging of the disease but when fully blown is known as 'Mesothelioma'. More and more people are being diagnosed with this disease and not only those who worked in the insulation trades. Painters, Plasterers, Doctors, Nurses, School teachers, Care Takers and ironically Goverment workers. Most of which are diagnosed with lung cancer. Anyone who has worked in old buildings that may have contained or still do contain asbestos are subject to exposure. Not only was it used to insulate pipework, but it was also an added ingredient to plaster and sement possibly paint we don't know its full story!
Today was a poignant day as earlier this evening we scattered his ashes out to sea while on each local news reading his story was being told.
Please will you take a little time and sign this petition Alan begins the story on the small video clip that was shown to Gordon Brown at the TUC meeting last week
Thank Denise

To all who have pledged their support already
Aw thanks Guys, this means a great deal not only on a personal level but if they over turn this decision (its going to be discussed by ministers next month) it will make so much difference to thousands of people. Each year the amount of people being diagnosed with this condition grows greater.
Although many are just phobbed off with lung cancer.
The film crew who went to film Alan and this was about six weeks before he died are hopefull that a major TV production team will pick this story up and do a full documentary on the subject. I have a copy of the full video but as yet still can't bring myself to watch it, but I will soon.
A big Thank you to all who have pledged their support
