Yep, I miss Arlene. While Alesha had a go, she just hasn't got the experience in performing , teaching or choreography to add anything constructive to the panel apart from 'it's entertaining' - which was always Bruno's angle, anyway. The panel in the past may have been harsh on many occasions, but it was worth it, and they all quite often had a slightly different angle to comment on. I just think Alesha doesn't add anything. I look forward to Darcy Bussell's contribution.

I think they were too tough on Rav though - he was the first one out, they had nothing else to compare it with, and he wasn't actually that bad at all.

I don't think they should have done the Tango and Rhumba on the first week - tango can be breathtaking when done properly (or at least with a few week's experience ), and the Rhumba is regularly touted as 'difficult'.

Ola's outfit - she regularly gets outfits that make you think 'what isn't she wearing??!' But what the hell, she looks great, and if I had the figure, I sure as hell would. Mr Jordan's a very lucky man indeed.

But anyway I've got a bigger gripe - and it's been a gripe over the past several series. Isn't it about time Bruce got retired?

    1) He's not funny, and just makes me cringe.
    2) Even when the jokes are written for him, he can't deliver them. (If he doesn't get a big enough laugh he drags it out, or insults the audience.)
    3) That embarrassing shuffle he does at the beginning isn't dancing. His idea of commentary on the dancing is nothing more than repeating that which one of the judges said.
    4) Whenever he tries to make a saucy joke about the girls, he just looks like a filthy old man.
    5) Whenever they go into hold, I'm sure Tess Daly's not smiling, but gritting her teeth.

I record it now, so I can fast forward the Bruce bits. Even my mother signed up to the strictly forum to express objections, but anything negative was moderated out.

Let Anton do the presenting. He's got much more personality and charisma.

Im so glad some one has posted a thread about Strictly.... I love it soooooo much and am sooooo glad it is back.... and yes, it does seem to be very sexy this year - yeahhhhhh....

I think Alisha is doing a great job, I think what people forget is its a celebraty dancing competition, its amazing and I love it but it can take itself a bit too seriously... take last year with John Sergeant..... that poor man was made to withdraw... I thought it was quite sad.... its an entertainment show, a brilliant one, but still just an entertaiment show.....

Cant wait for this weekend to see all the other dancers...
