wishing you a speedy recovery mistress lenore. keep your chin up and let us know how youre doing!
when my partner was just 18 (about 2 and a half years ago) she lost her mom to ovarian cancer... sadly i did not know her at this time and she often felt totally lost and without support. when her mom was ill, the only organisation they found for information and support was http://www.ovacome.org.uk/ , which was apparently only ran by a woman who was diagnosed herself and set up the charity as there was nothing else out there! hope the site is of some use to you.
supersexysusie, youre not alone in the nightmare thing, they were a regular occurence for my partner. but they gradually lessened and are now very rare (i dont know if this is because she talked a lot to me about her experiences with her moms illness, which she hadnt talked about before... but im a psych student so i would say that :P)
i wish this disease had more awareness spread about it... you see so much information about breast cancer, and its hammered into us to check ourselves out, but i bet most women dont know the symptoms of ovarian cancer, which can be much harder to spot than breast cancer. i didnt, until i met my o/h and looked the symptoms up online. if anyones reading this, you should too!
sorry about the essay ladies, just thought i would send my get well wishes and share my limited knowledge

Thank you Twinkle and Haybra
It was my first day back at work today, only part time for a week or so, but it's kinda good to be back (the novelty will wear off shortly I'm sure!), so onwards and upwards!
Haybra - many thanks for sharing your experiences with us, and the link to the support site. I'm sorry that your partner felt without support during what must have been the time in her life when she needed it, I'm sure she really apreciates all of your support now.
I hope that in the future, women are more aware, even though the symptoms are so vague, which is part of the reason I started this thread to raise awareness/support for a community that I'm involved with. I know that there are also events within my local LGBTQ community (Birmingham) with regards to all types of cancer, which I hope will be a success.
Thanks for all your warm wishes, they are very much appreciated.
