Alternative shopping event in Edinburgh
Okay, so it's not strictly burlesque stuff but I will be there, so that must count, right??? On Saturday Out of the Blue Drill Hall on Dalmeny Street (just off Leith Walk) is hosting an arts market from 11am-7pm. I work with this venue regularly (in fact I organised my first burlesque event here!) and they always have fabulous markets, with a huge range of fine art and craft objects direct from the makers, with styles to suit every taste and prices to suit every budget. There are lots of accessories, vintage clothing, jewellery, knitwear, etc alongside things like prints, photographs, small sculptures, etc. It's well worth a visit and I will be abandoning my stall regularly to do my own shopping. They also have a really nice cafe, perfect for lunch or some mulled wine. Please pop along and say hello if you happen to be in the area, it's well worth the 50p admission fee!
