I think it comes from being force fed American Christmases for 8 years! All that fake jollity just did my head in, plus the 'Ooooh, look how much I spent on you, how much did you spend on me'! Eugh :yuk: (Sorry if I have offended any body)

That said, I do get awfuly jealous, and a little wistful, when I see people out shopping with bags of pressies and wrapping paper, with HUGE smiles on their faces! Do sometimes wish I could get more into the 'Holiday Spirit'! :help:

This year will be spending the day with my parents & daughter, just the 4 of us over a quiet dinner & copious amounts of wine!

Tis all about family.

I told my mum I wanted to stay in London and she just texted saying whatever makes me happy which just made me unhappy becauseShe called a few weeks back about all the food and things she has planned.

Think i'm just being a misery guts because Christmas gets smaller each year around the family table

Ahh hon - Least she isn't trying to guilt trip you into coming, tis only natural she'd be disappointed - let's face it. She was hardly going to go into raptures and announce she was hoping you wouldn't come. Take it you can't go down for the weekend before? she was probably really excited about seeing you.

But we all have to enojoy our freedom while we can
