Question Christmas Markets

Hi

Can anyone recommend any nice traditional christmas markets to go to....every year Birmingham has the Frankfurt German market and this year i'd like to go somewhere different.

I am thinking of Europe somewhere but are there any nice Christmas markets in the UK??

Thanks,
Deb

Oh I should know this!

My Grandma is going on a cruise around Christmas markets in Europe in the couple of weeks before Christmas. At the moment she is on ANOTHER cruise for a couple of weeks (she's really thrown herself into holidays since my Grandad died), but I will ask her when she gets back and let you know.

Leicester and Nottingham have them usually. Personally I don't like them because it's always freezing and I hate being out in the cold for too long, but the OH likes them so I have been known to go along with him ...

Swansea used to have a nice one, lots of little Christmas huts right down the centre of the main shopping area.

I have to big up the Manchester one too. It's spread over three different areas and HUGE! Loads of traditional European market stuff and some nice locally grown / made / sourced/ crafted stuff too.
I'm going back home to Manchester before Xmas and plan on spending a whole day eating sausages and waffles.
Good to hear about the Swansea one, though, as that's where I'm living now.

Hi,
Southampton has lovely little "German" style huts but there aren't many of them. Selfishly though, I want you to come here!
Bath does a great Christmas market and it is huge. and has some great stalls.
I went to a lovely one in Prague years ago but, again, it wasn't too big.
Please let us know where you go. I want to see what you sell.
xx
