Thread: Burly Penpals!!!

Hi everyone!

In the Xmas shopping thread Vie O'Lette suggested if I had a pen pal (or pals!) it may be easier for me to come over and she very kindly volunteered....which got me thinking!

What I was thinking is, that its really lovely to get letters from people-ok its not as fast as email or posting here, but so much effort goes in to writing and posting a letter so why dont we set up a Burly Penpal group? :excited:

Anyone who's interested can post here and find out who would like to write

Also, any suggestions for a name for the group, post them here!!! :twothumbs:

I would LOVE a burly penpal / pals please.......anywhere!!!!!!!! It might be nice to have friends all over the country / world to go to local events, shopping trips etc and also (maybe) some-one to stay with when you're in that area and vice-versa.

I totally agree about the addresses.

Are you going to do a lottery / lucky dip to choose who gets who as a penpal or do we request from whoever posts on this thread? That could be like being the last to be picked at school for the team!!!!!! Brings back baaaaad memories......shudder!!!!

I would definately love to take part! I love writing and receiving lettters.
Maybe we should see how many people respond to the thread before it is decided who writes to who? Like Pixie I would be worried about being the last picked for the team! Although, if it is just us so far (though it would be great if loads and loads of people also responded) then we could all write!

Well I think that this is a GREAT start. I could have a penpal in Birmingham, Southampton and Northern Ireland - FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to have two penpals when I was lickle, both females, both my age then (11), one in Northern Ireland the other in Nebraska.

The only thing was, I didn't know those two were writing to each other as well..............Little minxes they were

I'm happy with loads of pen pals Pixie so very happy to write!

Ooooh!!!! All this excitement is making me want to go to a fabby stationers and get LOTS of gorgeous notepaper. Can't wait to get started. When does it all 'kick-off' Amethyst??
