What have you done to yourself while doing something you enjoy?
I have recently been attending upto 3 pointe work classes a week. At the last one I realised my big toe was hurting but danced through it. When I took my pointe shoe off I realised I had split my toe nail about half way down. The next few days were spent limping around until it stopped hurting so much!
My question to you all is... What have you done to yourself physically which doing something you enjoy?

This could be a never-ending list! I have a terrible habit of trying new things and damaging myself!! I tried a trapeze class and ended up with insertional tears in both biceps. Then tried capoeira and got such amazing blood blisters from the spinning moves that I couldn't walk properly the next day - not good when you have an interview! *note to self - wear shoes next time*!!

I am slightly accident prone to say the least but my worst one was when me and my OH were mountian biking and doing a bit of downhilling. Now my bike wasn't exactly made for downhilling but I had on a full face helmet which had arrived that day so I didnt think twice about doing it. Only thing was when I got to the bottom of a very steep incline my front wheel either hit something or collapsed, we couldnt tell as it was about 20 feet away from me and it was bent beyond recognition, and I went face first into the floor. I was lucky to be honest as I had a bruised and grazed face, my chin was an open flap of skin and I had a fracture to my jaw but the helmet stopped any really bad damage happening. I dread to think what would have happened had I not been wearing it, though through the impact the front piece by the chin on the helmet did break in half.

I went to my acting classes the week before last whilst I was feeling really grotty - nasty cough and chest infection with full on wheezing and sandpaper sore throat. I don't really like to give in!

I was sweet sixteen, just started my gardening apprenticeship, was doing gardens at weekends and evenings for extra dosh. Got a garden to do at the house of Carol, Carol was 33, she and hubby had split up two years previous, to my sixteen year old eyes and hormones, she was GORGEOUS!!! All soft n curvy etc. Now we have the mind set sorted out, let me tellyou the good bit...........Whilst watching said carol swanning around the house in her hot pants and tank top thing and knee length platform boots, I sliced through my right forefinger with the hand sickle I was sharpening, I was using it to hack down the loooooong grass in her garden...................I actually felt the blade grate along the bone.......With my life blood spurting gaily to the wind, I went into her kitchen and she lovingly bandaged my finger up. As I was a hero, I returned to the garden to finish the sharpening and continue the job.......................... and promptly did it AGAIN in the exact same place.....................And, no, I did NOT get laid..................
On a more silly note. How does one make a hormone? Don't pay her.................

Ouch, these are some horror stories. Blush i highly recomend peppermint foot lotion from the body shop. It will take the heat of the sting away.
Have managed to damage myself cooking on several occasions.
The worst were baking cookies and slipping so my forarm cought the metal.
The wound was so angrey and raised it has left brown marks on my skin,
and this was at least 8 years ago, now they blend with the freckles a little.
The other was falling with a cup of boiling tea which landed down my cleavage and i was badly burnt and now have a scar under my cleavage.
The gay housemates were not sympathetic and called my chardonay.

I managed to land on my face when rollerblading - breaking my 2 front teeth, and causing several injuries to my mouth and face. It took 4 years of operations - but I still kept rollerblading!

I was practising a dance routine when I was 13, and I somehow managed to dislocate my knee. Spent a month on crutches, and another few months before I could contemplate dancing again at all. 7 years later and it will still twinge on occasion!

Nothing too horrendous thank god! I'm forever losing skin and bruising my knees rock climbing but I've never really, really injured myself.
Mountain biking on a primary school holiday(so you can tell how long ago this was), I crashed face-first into a fence and broke my top front teeth so... they're not real. xx

I fell over and broke my coccyx ice skating the Christmas before last, it was agonising but the worst thing was I had to go to the A+E department in the hospital where I work to be treated!
