Question double yolker - what does it mean????

Well, just made an omlette for tea and one of the eggs I used (free range of course) was a double yolker!!!!!!!!! In all my years I have NEVER had a double yolk egg.
Is there an old wives tale / superstition that goes with this? I'm hoping it's lucky but you never know........

If you know ANY superstitions that go with this then please let me know.....

    kisses

I don't no if there are any superstition about it or not but I worked on a free range egg farm when I was young. It normally means the hens are well feed or they might have had a bit of a fright when they were in the process of making the egg. We used to get all sorts of mad ones like eggs with just the soft membrane and no shell. It can be as simple as a low flying plane that can bug them hens are very sensitive and incredible bad tempered.
    Sorry its not more romantic

To a goodly few people, mainly men, the sight of a double yolked egg will sent them into fits of ecstasy. Its a man thing about having egg yoke dribbling out of ones sarnies so, to have TWO yokies in ONE sarnie is the dogs wotsits. Other than that, some people tend to say that a bit of good luck is a "Double Yoker".

I think this is a wee bit like a Four Leaf Clover, finding one is meant to be lucky, and I think it was much the same with finding a Double Yoker, a bit of luck. Now a days of course, double yokers are ten a penny if one buys the LARGE free range eggs from free range chicken farms. But, where they DO become a bloody pain is trying to seperate TWO frigging yokes from the white when baking a cake more so when one has one of those piddly little yoke seperaters.

More likely you have a f*cked-up Frankenchicken whose mother was obviously bitten by a Draclia.
