Your grandfather didn't have anything to do with your symmetry obsession. I had it too, as did my OH. All children go through a phase where they get obsessive-compulsive about weird things like that - a lot of us grow out of it, but a lot of us don't. Which is why some of us still do the 'not stepping on the cracks' (me too Broomy ^_^). We're all mildy OCD in some ways, and I'm more than most people. You should have seen me at the casino - I'd spend five minutes tidying up after the last dealer when I came to a new table. My inspectors would wind me up by moving my cards out of line. But my gods I was neat!

Left handed people have been seen as evil for many many years. The Latin for 'left' or 'left-handed' is 'sinister' ...

Its very strange how left handers were often vilified yet now science has shown thta if you are right handed or indeed vice versa, doing simple activities that you would usually do with your right hand with your left hand (or the opposite way round) can help improve your brain function....

Like if you brush your teeth with your right try with your left

Ive just realised that Im weird about eating before travelling-esp long journeys...ops:

Hm, it does make sense though, because apart from wanting things to happen symmetrically, I also had a preference for the right side of my body (which seems paradoxical I know). If something happened one way on the right side of my body, it had to happen on the left in the same way and if it didn't, the right side was superior. If something happened to the left side of my body and not to the right, left was inferior because it had been 'touched' and right hadn't. (So, long story short, right was always superior!)

I have heard of other people having the symmetry thing too though, so that may indeed just have been a strange coincidence with my grandad's behaviour . But I haven't heard about the left/right superiority thing before.

I'd probably get toothpaste on my chin!

And the latter's probably very sensible.

I don't think I have too many habits one would describe as wierd - I err on the side of straight anxiety rather than OCD.

I don't have a fear of travelling (in fact I love it) but I do tend to be very regimented about packing (read: overpacking) and must get the the station/airport early. And then I have a good wander round so I know where everything is. I plan, I'm organised. Obsessively so, probbly, according to the boyf. (But getting us somewhere dies generally involve some serious organising, as we live 120 miles apart. And unfortunately as he's not good a skiing the interweb, I tend to do it all.)

But it means we get places and nothing usually goes wrong.

Even his mother rings me to find out what our plans are.

I'm like you but in reverse! I eat the toffee part first and save the biscuit. It's a sort of challenge because if I can get the toffee off without the biscuit snapping, it means that I am King of the Universe, but if it snaps, it means that I am a stupid monkeyboy!

The only thing I actually do that is a bit out of the ordinary is I tap dance whenever I am waiting for a train or bus.

People will just stand and watch me while I tap away with my feet.

I quite often do the 'Guinness' dance while waiting for the printer :daft:, but I think many of my colleagues are too young (or too cool) to remember.

Some one asked me on Thursday why I stand and shuffle cards with my right hand when I do not have a pack in them........................I told him I was remembering a time before I had a wife..................Other than that, I tend to go through the motions of various tricks I do.

I'm a lefty and I hate symmetry! And even numbers. I've managed to talk myself round but i still have a preference for slight disorder or mayhem. I;m really untidy too.

Don't have any crazy habits but I do have a phobia of mangoes which is slightly unusual. They REALLY freak me out!
