Huge LIFE CHANGING Postman Pat News!
Today I found out that Postman Pat's surname is 'Clifton'!
This makes him 'Patrick Clifton'. I can't quite get my head around this snippet of info! When I heard it on Radio 2 this afternoon, I actually had to park up on the hard shoulder of the M40 and slightly hyperventilate!WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

You lot are so behind with times! (Or perhaps it's because haven't had toddlers)
We got to find out about Pat's surname, his son Julian (he's just as much of a curly haired looker as his Dad), wife Sarah etc when they revamped the series probably in 2002 or 2003 because I remember watching it with my youngest....they expanded the cast, brought in Ajay and Nisha and family who run the steam railway, lots of kids on whom storylines could now be based (they could get into better scrapes than Jess the Cat) and worst of all....they painted Pat's van yellow so it could become the school mini-bus too! I'm not sure I'm going to be able to cope with the new Postman Pat SDS (sounds like he's gone all Power Rangers on us) even if he has got a gyrocopter.
I was most upset to find he'd settled down with Sarah and had a kid and was no longer the free, single, untameable Pat who might anyday whisk Mrs Goggins up over the Post Office counter and drive off into the Greendale sunset (final shot a violently rocking red postal van)....The Russian Doll Lass - like Shrek's onion, but with sequins...

Years ago, I worked as a nanny so my friends and I were well versed in Postman Pat and Thomas the Tank engine. One night a group of us were out and were getting chatted up; without any planning we told all these guys that our names were those from Postman Pat. I was Bella Lasagne! We carried it off for the full night. It was very funny but, looking back, so, so sad...

childhood characters always come back to haunt me... i discovered that the guy in the Fat Cat suit on TV turned out to be a pedophile who died of a heroin overdose, that Agro (a puppet on morning Aussie TV) was just some crazy man who made dirty jokes on some radio show and that Enid Blyton was a cross-dressing man... which i find kind of cute, though it still disturbs me a little.
now i'm sitting with a Jim Beam bottle trying to figure out how the Beams became the Noes...
did any of that make sense? hehe.
