I entirely agree with Baron Bartholomew, voter apathy is a very dangerous thing - unfortunate really when the electorate are disillusioned with the entire political system and the media circus that surrounds it.
Generally, I find the "big three" are so concerned with catching voters that they all sort of float around in some middle ground trying not to exclude too many people from their policies - hence they simply sound as though they repeat a script of buzz words and shiny slogans without having any substance behind their proposals.
I don't blame you for not know who to vote for - I'm a politics student myself (heaven knows why!) and I'm still a little confused about who to vote for.
Apologies if I seem too political considering I've just arrived here *hides*

I agree, i feel that i MUST vote this time, i didn't last time, but this election is really important.
I think i know who i am going to go for, but it is tricky because to me none of them are great!!

I just wish that Charlie Brooker would do a Newswipe style program explaining the election and the different parties to us xx

stand up and be counted
If you can't find anyone who represents your cuases and concerns why not stand for election yourself?

I think it's pretty expensive to run yourself. Not to mention I don't think many people would agree with my policies!
Also, I don't think I know enough about politics to run! On the other hand the Emerald Party would still be better than voting for the BNP!

I really think we should go the way as other countries and have it compulsury to vote BUT to also have a 'None of the Above' option on the ballot
That way voters can 'protest vote' without it giving a window of opportunity for the likes of the BNP

I'd vote for you Emerald
You'd be the most glam PM we'd ever had! Could you please abolish the royals though and appoint
Immodesty Blaize
instead? I can just imagine her as the queen x

Gah that comparison website made me even more confused! Every time I saw that a party had a policy I agree with on one subject, I clicked to the next subject just to find that same party have a policy I completely disagree with! I don't want to vote for policies I support but end up inadvertently supporting something I would hate to see implemented. This is a much more difficult balancing act and pro-and-con weighing up than I'd at first thought >_<
Although one thing that website did teach me, is that the BNP's policies are genuinely scary ...
