free show in Portsmouth!
OK so it's not technically burlesque but as my final practical project at uni my coursemates and I are putting on a performance in Portsmouth (at the No6 cinema)on the 18th March.
The performance is based on the lives of Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra. It is a interdisciplinary piece including physical theatre, swing dance , tap dance , footage from iconic films staring Monroe and Sinatra which has been re-dubbed to show them interacting with one another and live music from a mini big band
The performance will show the glitz and glamour lifestyle of 50's but this will be juxtaposed by also showing the darker side of celebrity culture.
so if you have some time to spare (approx 30 mins) and fancy coming along to see the show for free then your support would be greatly appreciated
it is on Thurs 18th March, 6.30 at the No6 cinema at the historic dockyard
Please feel free to contact me if you have anymore questions
