Looking for a day job!
Hello All,
In November last year I was made redundant by my ex-employer, and since then have had no luck finding alternative employment. I know the market isn't what it could be but I am now officially bored senseless.
I resisted daytime tv as long as was humanly possible and have read more books than you can shake a stick at. I've photographed every cemetery in the area and babysat for all my friends. I've organised a wedding (not mine) and did everyone's Christmas shopping for them at no commission. I've applied for everything and registered with all the agencies I can.
I'm a tip-top PA and Administrator with over 5 years experience at Board-Level in the Cosmetics Industry (although that's now put me off for life and I'd gladly change industries). Im organised, outgoing, motivated and could organise the most haphazard of people into submission in two shakes of a tail feather. In previous roles I've organised events, canvassed for petitions, repatriated a body and basically made the girl from 'The Devil Wears Prada' look like a whiny little madam.
I'm based in South Wales, so looking for work here and also in the Southampton / Bournemouth areas as I'm looking at relocating to be closer to Mr B, my sweet baboo.
If any of you lovely, lovely people know of anyone who may need a wonderous assistant I'd be eternally grateful if you could bear me in mind.
Thanking you kindly, and in advance,

Sorry to hear that honey, really hope you find a job soon. I am in a similar situation. I graduated from uni in June with a 2:1 in Dance & Drama and no matter how hard i try i just can not get a job :'( I had a Christmas job working Front of House at a theatre but other than that I've had no luck at all. I can't even get a job at bloody Tescos! I'm so fed up of having no money (they won't even give me Job Seekers Allowance because I live with my boyfriend) and I have developed an unhealthy obsession with Jeremy Kyle and my pet cat. I am also close to insane!
Lets hope the job fairy brings us something soon!

I know how you all feel. I am unemployed at the moment.
I feel like I am close to getting a job, but trying to fill my time up is getting a bit frustrating.
I hope we all find work very soon.

Thank you Agapanthus for the reassuring message up there - I'm glad to hear your Hubby has found his dream job, it definitely reminds me that mine is out there somewhere and its better to hang on for that than end up in something misery inducing. Thank you for the virtual hug too, they're always lovely. I have my cosmic order in already, so hopefully its just a matter of time ;o)
And to my fellow unemployed ladies, it sucks to be stuck in the world of Kyle (although I refuse to turn the tv on before 10:30 anymore), but at least we're not alone and we SHALL find gainful employment, with a living wage, lovely co-workers and maybe even benefits.
Good luck to us all xxx

Guess I'll join the club. I'm unemployed and broke. I managed to work for a while as a care worker, turned out they employ everyone and they threat you like an animal who isn't allowed a life of your own.
Do some sewing work occasionally, but unfortunately not many people are buying wedding dresses that need adjusting.
Keeping myself bussy making a corset collection, surfing online and watch a bit of dragons den (might inspire me to make some money). Applying for jobs is so time taking and unmotivating when you hardly get any feedback.

Snowglassapples,Id employ you if I had a need for a PA and the money to pay you, you sound like an ideal employee.
Im redundnat too.Luckily I have my jewellery/craft hobby to keep me occupied but it costs money.
Im glad to say Id never watch Kyle wether employed or not.I value my sense of taste and sanity too much. But I am addicted to the craft channel.
God luck to all of us,I hope we all find our dream jobs.

I've been unemployed for just over a year now and have decided that I'm probably unemployable.

So I decided to employ myself. The bank loved my business plan so (hopefully) on 1 April 2010, I should get my very own boutique!
Provided the bank are happy with our personal expenditure and the lease, etc, I shall be opening a
vintage
and retro clothing boutique with a very
burlesque
flavour in East Looe, Cornwall. Opening party on 16th April. It's not very long till then so I'm sure you'll all excuse me if I scurry away to panic now...
