Louise has a fox fur problem
I have put this here as it has nowt to do with actual burlesque , if I am wrong then please do shoot me mods

Louise has just taken on a set of Mayors robes for restoration. The Fox fur on it is in very sad condition. She needs to replace the fur wih real fur. We are coming up blank on suppliers of real fox fur. Infact, we are starting to think of using fresh road kill and me curing the pelts for her to use!! (might be a side line here!!) Do any of you know where we might buy real fox fur at less than the hundered quid we were quoted online?
The client does not wear the robes, they are a family airloom but, she wants the real fur back on them..........WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

I would say trawl the charity/vintage shops or ebay and recycle something.
I used to have a handle on life. Then it broke.

It would be very difficult to get real fox fur nowadays without having to find something second hand and scavenging from it. Especially with the price range you want.

You may have to try sourcing it from Europe where real fur is still fashionable, due to its practical use.

Ebay has nothing but, we are trawling the charity shops Ruby.
Hi Jake. Even the second hand stuff is a bit scarce on the ground as it were.
It is just as expensive getting it from Europe Miss Pussy Cat.
Unless we can get fresh road kill or the local gamekeeper can supply, Louise might have to talk the client into Faux Fur for the robes.
Thanks for your help

How urgently do you need it, as I know a couple of Gamekeepers, and farmers who maybe happy to save you one.
Otherwise have you tried looking here for an old furMiss Pussy Cat

I have a game keeper chum who "might" be able to get a few pelts, I do like the Might" bit about it, all he does is leave the bodies in the field to rot away and feed the crows etc!
Nice web site, problem being, the client does not want to pay out for a set of pelts, this is where it gets stupid, she wants cheapest option as long as it is real fox fur.................
