    Default Hand made or brought

Would something being handmade for you mean more to you than something being bought? Keeping in mind that the person is more likely to buy the item than make it.

I love home made things, but not everyoe does (especially if it is not very well made...hehe).
I am just as happy with something simple that someone has obviously spent time cjoosing, or has seen and instantly thought of me. My sister once gave me a hair band with a red gingham butterfly on. It was the perfect thing for me and I love it :-)
