I don't think I'm going to be able to make it across for this - train travel is just too expensive it only being the weekend before Dr Sketchys proper - so sorry.......have an absolutely fantastic time (even though I know you lightweights will be removing to Starbucks within half an hour of starting sketching, snigger)

I shall have a go at my burlesque interpretation of Queen Vic (from photos on the Birmingham Council site) this afty and submit them as my 'homework' if you promise not to give me a detention on the 17th...

Btw I read somewhere that Birmingham mucked up when we unveiled our statue....it was in January 1901 and there was a huge ceremony, fanfares and shouts of Long Live the Queen and she popped her clogs just 12 days later - so I'm petitioning Birmingham Council not to erect a statue of me in the near future....

I understand completely Tempest!! I really appreciate all your on-going support and encouragement. Jacob and I will toddle along from between 11 and 1 - so hopefully see a few Brum folk there....

I would be delighted to drop along. I think I've got a pencil somewhere.

In fact I'm squaring my diary until march and I rang my Boyf only earlier about the 17th (He'll be down then...)

'Ere... can you draw?'

'Well, there's this Burlesque thing on...'

Having never been, I had issues with describing it! lol. But we'll be along on the 17th with random paper and pencils, looking confused. :winkgrin:

Now then. Will there be issues with paying on the door? it'll be after payday then.

I will endeavour to be there tomorrow. In fact, I'm quite looking forward to it! (Grey coat, purple velvet hat...)

We had a small but perfectly formed gathering today for the Dr Sketchy's Birmingham meet - did only manage an hour though coz our fingers were frozen!! Shall put up the photos and sketches over the next few days. Thanks to everyone who came!!

In the meantime - if you haven't yet bought your ticket go get 'em!! Or be there in good time on the afternoon - we kick off around 3.30/4.00 on Saturday 17th January!!

Many apologies for this morning...

was watching that programme on 40s fashions over breakfast, and immediately got inspired to make something I'd been planning for months. Unfortunately by the time I was due to leave and get the bus (EDIT:- I originally typed 'bust'. Freudian?) in time to join you, I was still in my scruffs, my fingers were covered in superglue and my glue gun was just about oozing into life. So I carried on...

However it was quite productive, I was still being creative, and it was not a morning wasted!

We'll see you nice and early next sat though, looking forward to it.
