What a fantastic way to spend an afternoon. The turn out was wonderful and just reinforced for me how vibrant, creative and supportive the burlesque community is in Birmingham.
Lets glorify Queen Victoria burlesque style next!!
A few photos from the day can be found here:
Dr Sketchy's Birmingham meet-up - a set on Flickr
Thanks again to all the lovely folk who came
I did put the sketches on myspace but a number proved 'offensive' to myspace and were removed...
...so apologies to the artists for the black bar across all the lovingly and artistically sketched bosoms in my Dr Sketchy's BRUM myspace gallery!!
The winner of the sketch competition is the lovely Holly - how talented is she - and only 16!!
Can't wait to see you again at the Dr Sketchy's launch on November 15th at the Island Bar next door to the Alex Theatre at 4 pm.

A BIG BIG THANK YOU TO TEMPEST FOR CONCEIVING OF THIS WONDERFUL IDEA - YOU DARLIN!!!!Truth is beauty and beauty truth!

My pleasure.....but my 'Splash MoB at the Floozie!' idea was merely the sprinkles on the ice-cream sundae of your plan to bring Dr Sketchy's to Brum, oh great one! :genius:
And Fleur, shut it woman.....you organised a night, it had performers, it entertained people - therefore you organised a burlesque event, and you should be very proud of yourself. We are of you!
Being a performer is a huge risk lots of people never take, and you have gone even further than that by taking the risk to stage a night/event, shouldering all the problems an event can have and dealing with everything with meticulous planning.....take the praise that is rightly being flung at you woman!! Or beware my feather duster on Friday night! You have been warned....The Russian Doll Lass - like Shrek's onion, but with sequins...

Just has a wee peek at the pictures - looks lots of fun! My favourite artwork was Tallulah's. What talent that girl has, whoever she is! She must come from a family of talented, beautiful and fabulous people!!!
