Lookin New Friends
Recently got interested in the Burlesque scene but unfortunatley noone I know is.
Would love to meet other people in the West Mids who find these scene as fascinating as me...WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

I'm not in the West Midlands but I was recently in a similar boat - I met more people by doing workshops/classes (which can be great for networking), but also through going to local events, etc.
Obviously here and places like MySpace are also quite good for networking and some other MoB members might have some good local tips for you, but I honestly think (even if you don't feel you need it) that doing a workshop is a great way to meet other interested people. In fact, if you mention to friends you are going to do a class you'd be surprised how many might say its sounds interesting and ask how much it will cost

Burlesque_lou everyone is so friendly on the burlesque scene i be at red rock with Cherie Champagne come say hello to us, also we be at my own show in Bearwood on 6th Feb, theres also Dr Sketchys in brum on 16th jan thats in daytime/early evening.

hi lou! im from birmingham, and also sometimes have a problem finding people to come to events with me, as well as working saturdays, so i dont get to go to as many as id like! im hoping i can go to red rocks this saturday, it is a fantastic show. great performers and brilliant atmosphere. you should definitely try to go! say hi to me if you see me

well heresy and heels is on this saturday, i've not been to that one before but looks like a good night. sadly im going to a friends birthday meal so cant go. although its smart/fetish wear only so i probably wouldnt manage to get some mates to go with me anyway!
