Hi to you all - hope you all had a good crimbo! Been off line for a couple of months but am back now to wish you all a happy new year!! MMWWaahhh!
Anyhow - back to my question!
Having done the Manchester beginners class a couple of months ago - whats next? Will there be intermed. and advanced? and having completed said various classes , how do you get from there to actually performing !
Not that Im wishing to rush things, but I am getting a bit past my sell by date!

Ok, so first and formost! You are NEVER too Old...
and.. COngrats!!!! on completing the course! im CJ, and Ive been performing for about a year and a half (burlesque that is) but performed other art since i was 6.
Now, im by no means a professional , but what I would do personally is firstly! Buy the Dvd. the link is on the menu bar above
that way you can always watch it whenever
Then i would tak up another form of dancing too, to tap into your inner dancer... Mostly from what i gather from my polls... some on here like to try latin and balroom and tap, i personally prefer ballet, but its very hard.
Then sweetie! RESEARCH!! you tube, Myspace, amazon, type in burlesque and see what happens. all burlesque /caberet.. not just dita .
I also have a file of inspirational burlesque things that keep me happy. Maybe that would help?
Go to lots of events! and have fun!!
and as far as i can remember... there are talks of another class soon. an intermediate one maybe- if memory serves

Thanks hunni -
have been doing lots of research for about 18 months now - sumthin you never tire of tho' isnt it!
Will get the dvd right now. I did do ballet as a child and have got a couple of dvds for that too, but I only ever did one pointe class ! so yes - am doing diy pointe! just cant get far enough over the block yet and not yet got through the toe pain barrier (dont worry all those out there I am very sensible and not about to risk injuring myself). Love salsa and have been working on a poledance idea - not in a yucky - see my bits sort of way but very balletic (if my toes will let me!).
Also I like to make costumes and customise costumes for others so am going to get cracking on that too and get ebaying!.
Thanks again
