newbie to burlesque
I've been thinking about getting into burlesque for ages, and I joined here to lurk and learn, I hope no-one minds!
I'm hoping to get myself to some classes when I start uni in September and in the mean-time learn as much as I can by watching others and having a go myself (in private for the moment
).
I've always loved all things 'retro' and performance based - I loved dancing, and only stopped because schoolwork was getting on top of me, and I take part in 40's re-enactments which I really love. I enjoy it so much, but at the same time, I want to do something more outgoing because I think that would suit me more - as much as I try to act the prim and prudish lady at events, my laugh gives me away!
As I said, from what I've seen on this forum you're a welcoming bunch and I thought it would be a bit rude to glean all this info from you and not introduce myself...
So hello, and thank you for reading. And I'm really sorry if this is in the wrong section, I don't want to tread on any toes.

Welcome,
I'm new myself and have only been a member for about a week. I've posted lots of questions and everyone has been so friendly. I know how nerve wracking it can be the first time, but read all the posts and get yourself out there it's the only way to learn.
And most importantly enjoy yourself.

Hi Peekaboo, welcome aboard. Would love to see some pics of the 40's re-enactments. You'll find there's quite a few others here on the forums (or fora if the grammar police are about) who do the same sort of thing and loads of us love retro and vintage clothes.
Check out some of the threads or use the search facility on the Fashion/Make-up boards for tips .....or even better give us help with our victory rolls etc

Hello
I've been lurking for ages too, and only posted for the first time the other night. Been doing lots of reading and absorbing lots of information as I'm a total novice.
Everyone is really friendly here and really helpful too.
