Hi! my name is Sparkles and i'm new to MOB, but not the concept of burlesque. i've been in love with the whole concept and (perhaps most of all) th glamour of it all since i was a teenager. Generally the only person virtually obsessed with stockings and red lippy in my class / age group!

I'm in the Navy and sometimes my 'civvie' dress sense doesn't quite match up to the mans world i live in, but who cares?! not me, unfortuntely i have to go back to my ship in a few days and proberbly won't get to visit MOB through MOD (how many acroymns??!) computers so hopefully i'll make some friends with like minded people before i'm whisked off to my engine room in a week!

But when i do get back i wouldn't mind a point in the right direction for some fun nights out or exhibitions/ places of interest to visit, take in a few shows etc.. haven't quite got round to performing any of my own rountines yet though - think my captain would have a heart attack!!!! WOOO HOOOO

So if anyone has anything to talk about or has advice for a novice or is just a bit bored, please do drop me a line!

Hello Sparkles! I have it in my head that there are a few burlesquers from the Boro - there's one performer called Miss Frankii Wilde and I have a feeling there's the House of the Golden Lotus there (and I'm sure Warren, Beatrix von Bourbon or Amelie Soleil will be along soon to tell you more about it unless you google it first). But Teesside isn't a bad place to be

Ooh and there's Black Jack Rabbit's too which I think another performer called Meg la Mania is involved in (please shoot me if I get this wrong) - but I'm sure you can check them out on myspace.

Interesting you saying you're from Cleveland and not Teesside though - I still call it Cleveland, can't get out of the habit either

hi, yes i am based in pompey. i'm back down there this sat, but only till tues because i'm being flown out to the Falklands, before starting a 3 month tour of Antartica. Stand-by for some awsome piccies!! i'll be back around december time, so hopefully i'll manage to get to a few nights either in Boro or Pompey xx
