Talking Burlesque beginner- any recommendations?

Hi, I'm thinking of attending a burlesque course in Autumn in London but not sure which one I should go for. Thought Burlesque baby looked fun but was recommended Burlesque factory of London school of striptease. I guess I don't want anything too advanced as I've never done it before and would be great with something quite varied. Has anyone got any recommendations? anyone knows anything about the 7-week super course at 'Burlesque baby'? Thanks!!

Hi Bebe, welcome to MoB!

I can thoroughly recommend Burlesque Baby, it's very friendly and relaxed and the teacher is very patient with beginners! The 7-week super course covers burlesque, pole dancing and modern striptease so there's a bit of everything in there which means you cover a few different styles and can decide what sort of thing suits you.

If you want to do just burlesque, Burlesque Baby also run 4-week burlesque courses, and I've heard really good things about London School of Striptease too. Ministry of Burlesque also do classes but I'm not sure when the next beginners one is - check the website.

I'd suggest having a look around on the net and on this forum and seeing which course you think might suit you. I wouldn't worry about finding anything too advanced, if it says "beginners" then it will be fine for newcomers, and if you're unsure just email the organisers/school and ask - I always do!

The burlesque world is very friendly, in my experience even the most established performers have no problems answering any queries, and there are always the lovely ladies and gents on this forum who will happily advise, discuss, tease and titilate...well maybe the last ones only when performing but you never know

Good luck, you'll never regret learning burly!

Honey x

It can be quite intimidating as a beginner, but I am sure that you will find most performers and teachers sympathetic to the position your in, and once you get started you will realise it is not quite as scary as you first thought.

If your looking for easy and accesible beginners courses then Polestars can help right across the country. check Polestars - Pole Dancing, Burlesque & Can-Can Lessons & Hen Parties for more details. We also offer pole dancing lessons and can-can courses.
