I was just wondering if anyone had any advise about how to start performing for the public once u have perfected ur act?

I thought about just doing it in the town centre but i might be arrested?!

Any tips or comments would be fantastic as always!

Hiya Gemkitty, (cute name) I haven't really got any useful advice as I'm in the same boat. It's so frustrating when your ready to go but I suppose you've just got to be patient and try anything and everything and try and learn as much as possible.

Hi honey
there are lots of events in Liverpool and Manchester. I am based in Liverpool drop me a line and I might be able to help. I am performing this week at the Royal court sadly sold out but there is a Queer cabaret night on at walk the plank on Friday and I am also performing there should be a hoot and you get free drinks if you come in drag.
It might be a good idea to chat to Bella Besame she is lovely runs classes in both Liverpool and Manchester and runs nights in Manchester and Leeds. Gwendolyn Lamour is running a class in Manchester in August which is a great opportunity sadly I will miss as I have a gig else were.

I've been thinking about doing burlesque in the streets too, family version of costumes though. London seems to have such complex and mysterious laws about street performers that i'm not sure what to do, maybe just do it and politely move on if asked to.

Yeah, I don't know why it's not working. If you go to myspace.com/vonbourbon the link is under 'navigation'. I think it works when you click from MySpace, but not external sites for some reason...
