Default Practice space

While I'm still relatively new to all this, I plan to put in a lot of practice once I've taken in all the basics and figured out the kind of thing I want to do. Problem is, I'm a student, and am soon to be moving into a tiny student-house in which I will have absolutely no room to practice. While I have my fingers crossed to be able to use the garage, there's no guarentees that the landlord will give us keys to it since none of us has a car, that the people I'm living with won't be using it to store things or that it's a generally suitable area to practice in. That said, is my only other option going to be hiring out a hall or (preferably) dance studio regularly? How much does that cost (again, I'm a student) and would I be able to get a sufficient amount of practice time in if that was my only space to do it in?

Is there a drama/film/dance place where you're studying? Failing that it's worth talking to places that have dance classes - Sometimes if you're very flexible they can be cheaper then you'd expect - Throw yourself on their mercy and promise the earth :-)

If anyone want to use the upstairs function room at my pub in Hull you're more than welcome!

Thanks for your suggestions. Sadly Hull is the wrong end of the country for me and there's no performing arts facilities at my uni, but I suppose because I'm so flexible with times (gotta love the student lifestyle), it shouldn't be too much bother to be able to use a dance studio or hall during a weekday since most people will be at school, or this strange thing called...a job?
