Newbie me has another question...I've really been getting into the whole "burlesque spirit" (so to say) lately, and I'd like to take some lessons. I'm from Watford but studying in Lisbon right now, and the burlesque scene is dead...and I'm not home very often - and even when I am, I'm only there for like two weeks at best. So I was wondering if you'd recommend me getting the Burlesque For Begginers DVD that I found somewhere on the website? What do you think?
(Also, I'm 18 going on 19 but I've never really done dancing before - and don't intend to as a full-time career, but...am I too late to start practising? O.o)
It's never too late to start dancing! True, if you want to be a prima ballerina then you may have benefited from lessons earlier on, but if you just want to dance for the fun of it then you can learn whenever you like! Plus, if you want to do some burly, you don't need to be a fully trained dancer as there is no fixed style or set moves. The DVD is useful, I certainly found it to be. It has little tasters from all different aspects of burlesque, from moving to crafting, so there's lots to get you started. But it is intended to be a taster, and as such isn't highly detailed on everything. But it's good if you want some inspiration to start off with, because you can build on everything it teaches.

Well I'm half Portuguese and after thirteen years of English schooling I thought I'd come and take my uni degree above, just because... (and also because of every student's wish: be as far away from the parentals as possible ). Another two years and I can run back to the motherland...damn six years-long degrees! Though it is nice and sunny today, as one would expect, but it's been really cloudy and rainy for the past few weeks, or even months (only still warmer than Watford, haha).
