Question Advanced fan techniques?

Hi does anyone know where I might be able to learn about advanced fan techniques? I live in Sydney, Australia and havn't been able to find anyone that practises proper techniques. I had learnt a little in the past but from a guest artist from america.

Look up Michelle L'Amour "Your Biggest Fan" on YouTube or via her website. Her fan technique is incredible and the choreography is practically flawless. It's one of my favourites and the fans are beautiful.

In terms of courses or workshops in your area I'm unsure but here is the best place to find out.

However I have found that developing technique comes from watching as many performers of your particular discipline as you can and then practise, practise, practise! It would also help to take a ballet class as a lot of the choreography in classic fan-dance has its roots there.

Don't know if this is any good to you but I've noticed on ostrich.com, there's a Michelle L'Amour fan-dance tutorial DVD for sale. I'm afraid I haven't seen it (if anyone has, it might be nice to post a quick review) but it might be worth a look.

Yes I just wish we had more here in Sydney to see! I'm originally from the ballet world so I guess I'm on the right track. I have my first burlesque show this Saturday although it's just dancing as I put the fans on hold until I've learnt a few more skills. Thanks again, Odile xx
