I watched Burlesque for Beginners today Now I ordered it for a number of reasons
1. I've been interested in burlesque for a while
2. I'm thinking of doing "something" for my birthday this year
3. I've been promising my husband a sexy dance for 6 years but haven't had the confidence.

So - I had a shower, did my hair & makeup and put on my new corset (it was delivered yesterday), stockings and high heels and watched the dvd, while taking note of the poses and moves etc.

Hubby came up for a shower, saw one of the routines and said "When I said I wanted a dance, I meant a lap dance not fannying around like this"

:x I said to him - "This kind of thing is classier!"

Pah I can't believe him! Still... he was very keen to offer to help me out of my corset. Hopefully I will learn something that will knock his socks off and he will eat his words.

It's be so much easier to turn gay, god knows fanny kisses thinks so.

F-k it ! He walked in when you were practicing not the full polished routine.
And Burlesque is all about tease,

The way you gesture your body and the type of act you choose will help.

1) Don't just wear a corset, yes it's dam sexy but the more layers to take off the greater the antisipation.

2 ) Induldgement. Either a fantasy of yours or his, costume is key.

3) choose a character vamp or pin-up

4 ) If all else fails or you can't be arsed it's time for some Bondage.
Tie the ungreatful wretch to a chair and do your full routine.
He'll be so wound up by the end of it and depriving him of a sence will make the others more alert.

Sorry to hear about your hubbies response. Even the best men can be a bit insensitive sometimes.
I went to my first burlesque lesson this week as I am also looking to do a routine as a treat for my hubbie. Even though I was the largest girl there it really lifted my confidence.
So....Don't give up - I reckon once you have a routine he won't be able to resist you.

I think that might be it, he sees it as just flouncing around. I want him to come to an event with me so he can see.

There is hope yet though. I've ordered a lovely Vivien of Holloway dress - but he said he didn't like it because polka dots would look silly (!) He thinks he's Gok Wan. But at least he does show an interest in how I look. He says he "wouldn't let me out if I looked like a tw@t"

It's not as if the spark has gone or he's lost interest in it - in fact it was the other way round. I'm doing this to try and regain my confidence and feel sexy again. I feel like I am improving, but it seems like he wants the Spearmint Rhino type dance.

LOL I'm not trying to "get him in the mood" as such - he needs no encouragement there, I'm just trying to fulfil my side of the bargain by doing him the sexy dance that I promised him 5 years ago.

lol. Sorry about that. As long as you keep practising you'll be doing fantastic in no time. Im trying to impliment ballet into my routines....but im not very co-ordinated!!

Its a bit difficult practising cos we've just had 2 friends move in to lodge with us - so I have to do it in the bedroom and the tv is in an awkward position to stand in front of.

I WILL keep at it though!
