I suppose technically - no. It's a personalized profile on someone else's website (i.e Mr. Myspace or whoever.) I'm no expert, but I'm sure James will know.
I think that most would agree that a website at a domain name actually purchased and owned by a person/company (rather than on a free acount somewhere) speaks volumes about their dedication to, and experience of, their own or intended client base. It certainly seems to be a modern necessity for any business to be taken seriously or to at least 'be counted' among cohorts.
I don't know if you were asking about sites in general or sites specific to performers but, are you thinking of setting up a site Ms Lavey?
