The incredibly entertaining and talented teacher, Princess Farhana of Hollywood is in town. You will learn oodles from a well honed performer who is an excellent instructor, plus, there's a chance to see her perform in the evening show!

Workshop 1 - Burlesque Made Easy 3pm - 4.30pm

Learn cool burlesque techniques- such as bump n grind combinations, turns, spins, level changes and retro strip tease*style floor work , prop use and character development. This workshop will also cover costuming, fastenings and closures; how to deal with ‘reverse wardrobe malfunctions’; stage make-up tips, crowd control and developing a stage persona. Please bring high heels, undies, gloves, a boa or any other props you may wish to use in class . Everybody welcome.


Workshop 2 - Belly Dancing With Fans 4.30pm - 6pm
Become a FAN-tastic dancer while you add a new dimension to belly dancing! Princess Farhana will teach you how to dance with fans, whether they are smaller hand-fans or Sally Rand-style ostrich feather fans. After a full-body warm up , we will go over hand and arm;positions; dramatic poses; basic fan technique;Asian-influenced, Flamenco-influenced and ‘conceal-and-reveal’;burlesque-type moves all easily applied to belly dancing.We’ll practise slow technique and then move on to combinations perfect for fan-fusion dancing. Also included: tips on constructing and caring for fans and written class notes. Please remember, bring along a fan or two of any size. This class is open to all levels.
