Gory Question
Hi there, I am preparing an act with a medical theme in response to a specific request and am going for a routine in which I will be hacking a friend to bits on an operating table. However, the venue isn't keen on me making lots of mess.
I reckon I can get away with fake blood if I am careful about where it ends up, but am looking for advice please on:
- Any recommendations for sources of/how to make fake blood
- Any advice on making bits of gore/flesh that isn't wet, sticky or messy (was going to use jelly but the venue ain't happy with that, goddam it!!).
As I am really a bit of a cheesecaker and not a gorelesquer this is uncharted territory for me, so any advice would very, very gratefully received.
Thank you muchly,
Lily x

Ask Violeteyes honeybee, she's the gorlesque queen! Damn I forgot to ask her about that routine I was telling you about the other day as well! Yep add her through my facebook and message her. I'm sure she'll help you out.
Also regards the venue, tell them you'll put a big cloth on the floor, don't let 'em bully you!

I can't personally help but if you speak to Violet Eyes &/or Daisy Cutter they'll be sure to give you some jolly good advice as they both perform some fantastic gorelesque routines.
Good luck lovely!

You can buy fake blood from theatrical suppliers, two kinds usually, a type for wounds, and a type for spitting out (After being punched, or in dental scenes) The spitting type is usually mint flavoured. But don't confuse the two because the other type tastes horrid.
My lil sister and I worked on a martial arts movie a few years ago, lots of fake blood needed!
Good luck with it. xx

Cornflour, water and red food dye for the blood.
Maybe get some clear plastic sheeting to put on the floor, waterproof, easily cleaned and you can use it again.http://www.folksy.com/shops/IfIwasarichgirl -jewellery, tiaras, cocktail hats etc
