Thread: Dance Video

Hey Kittens! I have a college audition that I needed to make an audition video for. I have chosen my love of burlesque to be my dance portion. I had to tone it down a bit so no nudity lol. I recorded it the other day and I am not very happy with the results. I will post the Youtube link down bellow and am wondering what you lovely ladies think. I want all the feedback you can give me good and bad!

Difficult to say really as the video keeps sticking. From what I can see (35 sec) it seems a fairly straightforward generic burlesque like dance routine, you can kind of see where the act is going from the start. I expect you put a foot up on the chair at some point, maybe sit on it, lean back and kick legs (carousel), straddle chair etc etc.

I know, I have to say I was a bit tired and moody when I wrote that. Next time I'll just go to bed instead of posting stuff on here, it might give people the wrong impression of me. x

Hi Megan,

As a dance piece I'd say your video is quite good as it ticks all the boxes of a generic striptease in terms of props, costume pieces, & movement.

However, some of your moves (particularly the glove removal) seem a bit half-hearted, maybe you could make them more dramatic & look like you're putting a bit more soul into them? It would be so much more entertaining to watch if it looked like you were enjoying yourself more in that sense.

Also, you could (should?) use your facial expressions more to add to the piece. Not only would it make it more enjoyable to watch & appear that you're enjoying it yourself, but it could also show a little bit more of your personality in your performance which I think would be vital in an audition.
