    @ BurlesquePoleGirl - we totally need to get together!

    Everyone else, I just wrote this email, let me know what you all think.
    This email isnt total bull, I do have events coming up this year (yay).
    And I possibly could make time for the troupe , but its not feeling right to me.
    People are now asking to join and when the next show will be.
    I feel like the plain pole dancers are taking over, and not allowing me to work with burlesque women who also like pole. Ive found a few now (double yay)

    ==============================

    "So, does anyone want to take the troupe over??

    I personally can not do it.
    I will be taking the classes with Trixie Little along with doing the show in May, I have two burlesque festivals coming up (and a couple more later on in the year), guesting at a couple burlesque shows (local and out of town), the make-up show for the tattoo convention (dont know when that will be), along with needing time to finish graphic design work for another convention I will be attending. I am going to be networking and getting myself out there to get pole dancing into the burlesque scene, since thats been my vision for over three years now...now I will be actually starting.

    So I cant do all that along with working and doing the troupe .

    If someone wants to take everything over, thats fine by me. You will have to get the pole, arrange booking with a venue, get host, practice times, performers, photographer (if you want), design print and hand out flyers, send out info for press and advertising (expect calls when you're at work), and write and read a lot of emails.

    Thank god Im fast at what I do at work, for a few weeks before the shows I would spend half of my work days dealing with troupe stuff. Honestly, it was about double the work I thought it would be. The troupe shows would consume my head for all days and nights and weekends, and I am going to need to focus on burlesque events for a while. "

    I think thats great what you wrote. It was honest and straight to the point. Any serious performer will respect that.

    If anyone tells you that they DO want to take over the troop... simply give them any relevant contact information and wish them luck. This way, the new troop leader doesnt assume she can ask you a bunch of questions about leading a troop ect ect. Giving someone lots of advice may end up being more work in itself just like leading the troop lol!

    Good point!

    I took one little class about the business of burlesque. It helped a little bit, but for the most part, I was winging it and learning as I went along.

    My friend went to the latest show, and he was pretty impressed I was able to pull everything off and it did come off as pretty decent; nice site/flyer, great host, great venue, talented women (they may not be into burlesque, but they are skilled nonetheless)

    The work isnt so much as time consuming, but mental energy consuming and it was making me sick and causing a lot of tension headaches. I dont know how people can put together a show a month or more!

    I sent out the email with a couple changes. Only heard back from one woman very understanding and appreciative of what I did anyways.
