Thread: Looking for promoters to host my workshops

*edit - I've had a lot of interest in these workshops, so I've been able to reduce the costs a little bit. Also, I've been able to eliminate the minimum number of participants from the branding workshop.

Dear All,

I've just finished costing up a selection of non-movement workshops. I'm looking for promoters who'd like to book me to perform (at a reduced rate) and host one of my workshops at the same time. The prices below indicate the amount of money I need to receive in order to cover the costs of the workshops.

I am available for these from 1st March until 1st August. After this time I'm off to Germany again for another long contract.

Bra Embellishment
2 hours
£16 per person (10 people minimum)

I supply: take-away flyer, embellishments (sequins, appliques, rhinestones, ribbons), needles, thread, gem-tack etc.
I will: Show participants how a tshirt bra can be customised into an elaborate piece. I will bring examples of my previous work. I demonstrate how to add ruffles, sequins, appliques, as well as how to change the bra straps for a halterneck fastening. I provide give tips on using rhinestones. Participants then have an hour with me to begin work on their own customisation and get ask questions about tricky or difficult techniques.
I need to be given: a location to use for 2 hours
Participants supply: a tshirt bra to customise
Participants take away: any embellishments they've stitched or started to stitch. I may also be able to supply a couple of extra bits for them to take away. A "how to" flyer.

How to make 6ft Ostrich Feather Fans
2 hours
I need 15 people at £16.75 per person OR 10 people at £23 per person

I supply: take-away flyer, materials to make ONE PAIR of feather fans (not one pair per attendee)
I will: Show the group how to make bamboo-stave, double-layer BUDGET feather fans (6 foot wide). I will give participants a list of suppliers for feathers and staves and supply tips/tricks for construction. With 4 weeks advance notice and at an additional cost, I can purchase and supply fan-making materials for attendees to take away and make their own fans at home. To supply materials I require £125 per pair of fans up-front.
I need to be given: a location to use for 2 hours
Participants supply: nothing
Participants take away: A "how to" flyer (and their own notes)

How to build your burlesque "brand"
1 hour (45 minute presentation, 15 minute Q&A)
£10 per person (no minimum booking)

I supply: take-away flyer, presentation
I will: Provide tips and tricks with regard to strengthening your own "brand" of burlesque and how to "sell yourself". This includes both on-stage elements and extensive behind-the-scenes tips (i.e. website do's and don't's, promo blurb tips, how to write an application letter...).
I need to be given: a location to use for 1 hour
Participants supply: nothing
Participants take away: A flyer (and their own notes)
