    Hi Roxy

THanks for the reassurance and the advice - the dress rehersal bit in particular I shall definitely be following!

Best of luck to both you and Honey in your forthcoming debuts, mine's in Glasgow on 4th December, one of the community nights organised by Viva and Queen Bea.

I'm new too gals! My First performance will be THE FIRST PERFORMANCE (OMG!!!) of the night for The Heart Of Burlesque with Kitty Deluxe (her first too).

We were originally in a troupe of 3 but, due to certain circumstances its now just the 2 of us! We have decided to forgo our troupe name & change our routine and with 6 weeks to go, we're completely starting a fresh.

At the end of the day, if you have the balls to go on stage and perform thats the first major step, I'd say.
Secondly, if you look the part then all you need to do is tease, remember it's all eye candy for your audience and smile cause you gotta look like your enjoying yourself!

All I'm going to do is give it my best shot on the night and get the crowd going together with Kitty ready for the rest of the performers (Honey, that includes you!!)
If you do make a mistake, who cares! The audience don't know your routine, just carry on and forget about it and enjoy the rest of your performance.

Before the night you perform, if you like, ask a few friends round for a dress rehersal, it will give you a confidence boost to know they loved you! crowd experience (obviously somewhat limited but, its still experience) and hopefully, if there are any loose ends, then they might be able to help you perfect your routine ready for your close up!

Lilly where abouts are you performing?

    xxx

Hi everyone, another nervous newbie here! Like Honey I've got my first performance coming up (although mine's at the start of December rather than November so I've got a little more time to prepare) but I'd really like to do something special - I've got a few ideas (mostly comedic/cheescake) but I'm nervous that what I may see as comedic others will just see as me making a fool of myself - does anyone have any tips on pitfalls to avoid when putting together these kinds of routines (or should I just stop worrying about what other people do or do not think and just go with my first instincts)?

My theory is that you can never have too many sparkly rhinestones Honey but as long as you have or can fake buckets of confidence then you'll be great so just enjoy yourself and then the audience will too. Have a great time. x

Jojo - hope you managed to come up with something. Are you performing on Fri? Will try my best to pop down if I get paid before then.
