Thread: 'Strange & Beautiful' Burlesque exhibition

Hi Guys and Dolls

I've been asked to post a proper thread telling you all about this rather than my 'I've finished Uni' thread.

For anyone that doesn't know I have spent the past year intensively photographing UK Burlesque performers both in the studio and at shows, for my final degree piece. After alot of glitter, sweat and tears the project is now finished and on publich display.

The grand opening is this Friday June 5th, 6.30 - 9 pm, complete with burlesque performances from Willow Blue, Delilah Dufoe , Ditzy Diamond and Tempest Devyne, in the Dwight Building at Staffordshire university, college road, stoke-on-trent, ST4 2DE, dont worry when your sat nav gets confused, its cause they've just rebuilt the main road with underpasses instead of roundabouts!

Be lovely to see all you mobsters there, and show that raggamuffin student crowd what glamour looks like!

Are the university carparks going to be open to the public then Cherry? Or do we have to tell the guy in the control box by the barrier what we're coming to see/do?

Yup any who want to feel free to bring your cameras but you'll have to be careful to only photograph my work, others might get nowty about it (thinking they're better than they are and you might be trying to steal their work pah!)

Car parking I believe should be open to the public, it usually is on degree show night, if the security guards give anyone any bother just bop em! There's also plenty of 1 - 2 hour on street parking around the uni too.

I also found out yesterday I have won an award for all my crazy hard work over the past 4 years, and it's a giant novelty cheque! Which will be presented on friday to, go me! Cherryfox = Award Winning Photographer!

Is there real money associated with the huge novelty cheque too???

Don't tell them to bring their cameras! I've got a big spot on my chin and I stupidly won't let people photoshop me haha

E gads I'm so excited about tomorrow! I've just finished making my most elaborate corset creation ever! I got some properly printed business cards today as well so there's that panic over.

Cant wait and its so great all of my burly friends will be there to support me (except for DG but he has a note from kittie to excuse him hehe)

Gutted that Lilly and I are so far away, we would have loved to come along!
