Default Burly Q Sheffield October 16th - Anna Fur Laxis, Diva Hollywood and much more!

Join us on 16th October at Bar Abbey on Abbeydale Road for our jam-packed final show of the year, which is already promising to be a spectacular send off for 2010. As always we’ll be bringing to you the best Britain has to offer in burlesque , variety, circus and cabaret, and are bursting with excitement about the acts we have confirmed so far.

We are delighted to welcome back to the Burly Q stage Sofire Rosa . Hip dropping, chest popping and twirling like a dervish, Sofire delights audiences throughout the UK with her artful blend of the exotic allure of Turkish belly dance and burlesque 's classic bump n grind.

Joining her is the hottest burlesque star from the cold North West and Britain’s very own blonde bombshell. Diva Hollywood . A mixture of sin, sauce and seduction, Diva evokes the sultry sirens of Hollywood’s classic films with her curvaceous Marilyn-esq charms, and was recently voted one of the world’s top 50 burlesque performers by 21st Century pin up.

Finally, we are very proud to welcome burlesque starlet, pin up queen and axe throwing legend, the inimitable Anna Fur Laxis . Praised for her creativity, humour and originality, Anna’s unique take on traditional burlesque performance has gained her a truly international reputation, with shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Milan, Paris, Brussels and Tokyo. Recently voted one of the world’s top 10 burlesque performers, Anna Fur Laxis is breathtaking, pulse-raising, and occasionally fatal.

All this and we are still waiting on confirmation from one more very special act, so be sure to watch this space!

They will be joined by local chanteuse Ginger Hayworth and your resident compere, Penny Dreadful. As if this isn’t enough the evening will be rounded off with100% vinyl DJ’s Cherryred and Den Iniquity, playing the best 1950’s Rock and Roll and R&B.

The theme for the evening is ‘heroes of burlesque ’, so we’d love you to come dressed as your all time hero, whether that be a superhero, icon or personal hero – remember that there’ll be a prize for Best Dressed from Pin up Parade, alongside stalls such as Imogen's Imagination.

Tickets are available from Burly Q : Sheffields BEST Burlesque night., and are priced at £15. This guarantees you a seat, so remember to book early as tables are allocated in order of booking. Once you’ve booked get in touch with your table and reservation requests. This can be done through emailing info@burlyq.co.uk, or through Facebook. This is our 8th show, and as of yet we haven’t had any tickets available for sale on the door.

After this event we will be having a slightly longer break until Spring of 2011 in order to make way for the debut of a certain baby Hepkitten, so be sure not to miss out on what promises to be the Sheffield Burlesque event of 2010!

Golly Gosh, I will be there with knobs on! Ready to worship at Anna's feet, as per usual! Whoop!
I am not domestic, I am a luxury, and in that sense, necessary.

That's lovely to hear, Sian! I will say that tickets are already selling really quickly, as we give our 'regulars' a small time period to 'pre-book' before we really start publicising - this one is looking like it's going to be a very popular one!
