Burlesque wanted in Hull!
Will someone pleeeeaaaasssse organise a night here in Hull!
I own a little pub not far from Hull town centre and am dying to get a burlesque night started on a regular occasion. Not sure if there's much of an audience yet but I'm sure it can be created easily!
I've got 2 available staged floors each with a max. capacity of 150 people and both with a full PA set up and in-house sound engineer.
We currently hold gigs here and the way we do things is that we at the pub pay for the sound engineer and whoever organises the night takes whatever is made on the door to pay for bands (you charge whatever you think suitable). So fingers crossed we could do something similar for a burly night? That way I take the monetry risk regarding the bar and staff and it gives the promoter the incentive (as well as me!) to draw the crowds in.
I'll pop some photos of the pub on here either tomorrow when I've got a gig running or over the rest of the week but have a look at myspace.com/wkdwalker hullrockers.co.uk (photo section) or theringside.co.uk (still in development!).
If anyone wants to contact me then either do it through here, anna@theringside.co.uk or give me a call on (01482) 226698.
Fingers crossed!

I'm no expert, but perhaps you could run the night yourself instead of calling in a promoter. I wonder if any of the more knowledgeable posters on this forum would be willing to impart some advice to you.
Wishing you luck in getting some Burlesque going in Hull

I'm the landlady of the venue and unfortunately with everything else I simply don't have the time to get a night running and to give it the full attention an event like this deserves hence asking for help from someone who knows how to run this sort of thing better than me!
I'm willing to chuck a few drinks in for the acts and promoter (and maybe some tea if you ask me nicely!) just to get the night started off but I genuinely have noooo idea how to set this sort of thing up as I'm not able to get to any of the Leeds events at the minute due to work commitments.
Even a few ideas for setting up a night'd be appreciated.

I live in Hull and really love burlesque . I know of plenty of people who would love to come to a burlesque night. You could have some local fab corset person there as well and a table waitressed night. I would be a waitress. want to wear my new corset (any excuse). Would love a night in Hull and please please do come along to Hull and yes hold a night.
Excited now
xx
