i agree there isnt much of a community in manchester which is a shame, lots of great performers too, would be nice to get more of a network up and running. i think my problem is that we perform all over that we miss out on the scene at home! will definately check the show out in july!! looking forward to it xxx

I think there's a great burlesque community in Manchester, which seems to be being judged negatively as to how many nights there are. Granted Slippery Belle is the main night in the city centre (Whim Wham has an element of burlesque too) but there's also the Hellfire club, & regular nights in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Bolton, & other areas just outside Manc.
If not performing at one of the nights, Manchester performers will regularly be in attendance at the shows, which is great to see

im not trying to be negative, i think the scene is great, im just commenting on not feeling part of a community but thats more due to me always being out of town on tour so mainly my fault..would love to get more involved but im always away when nights are on

Have to admit, when I look at what a lovely tight-knit bunch the Leeds girlies (and guys) are, I can't help but wonder why there isn't a similar 'community' feel in Manc.
Granted, I've been in and out of Manchester over the past couple of years, but I can't help but feel that the scene in this city is a bit disjointed and irregular. Nights seem to come and go after a few months (with the exception of Slippery Belle) and there are no real burly 'hangouts' so to speak, which is ridiculous when you think how easy Manchester centre is to get to and from, and the plethora (my new favourite word) of great performers the city has to offer.
Let's sort this out yes? kthxbye

I work there and have just put this event onto the system! I am so excited, I can't wait for this.
It 's part of the new season and goes on advance sale to mylowry members via the website only (join via lowry website) this thursday, 25th February and on general sale on 4th March. Book sooner rather than later, I have a feel that this will sell out!

There was talk of sorting the sugar fix out again at some point. I'll do some digging and see what I can find out. I always thought it was a lovely do and a nice way to meet people in Manchester with similar interests.
And Ginger, you can always come over to my gaff and we cad drink gin and gossip, you know the offer's open any time
xx
