Undoing corsets on stage:
Now that i'm putting aside a budget for costumes, i have so many questions.
Which corsets are best for undoing easily and with style?
I find my proper corset with metal clips and steel boning is very difficult to unhook with ease and grace.
But my cheap corset with the little tiny hooks (same as on a bra) come off real sly.
What do you use and what to you suggest?
Thanks gals,
~Muse

Im no expert on this, but it does seem like the best corsets for easy removal are the cheap and nasty basques- the clasps are never intended for the sort of support a real corset busk offers, so they are quite happy to pop off effort free (well....almost) Which is a real shame because they wont offer you the curves and the glamour that a "proper" corset can.
One tip Ive heard is, if you want to use a real corset but it absolutely has to come off, use satin ribbon to lace it, it has a bit of give and is slippery, so its easier to slide it off. I wonder about elastic lacing too, which would give you the ability to pull the corset away from you when undoing the busk, this would definately stop you getting the curves though!
One thing to bear in mind if you use a good corset, is that you are going to be damaging the bones and busk by removing it improperly- you should always be loosening the laces fully before undoing the busk- bear this in mind when deciding how much to spend on it- it wont last as long as a regular wear corset unless youre very careful with it!

I have two tricks...
Firstly, I make sure there's plenty of room in the chest, and that it's only very tight on the waist (plus it's a better fit for things like breathing!) because then you can remove it just by undoing the bow, not unlacing: or even without undoing it at all!
Secondly, if it is a tight corset, I either bend over or saw off the 'catch'/ 'eyelet' on the busk that corresponds to my waist... I've only ever got stuck once, and this was the one time I used a corset before I'd done that!
