first of the big posters, hee hee, where can i get a good deal on crystals?
Any really good ebay shops for good deals on crystals, swarovski non hot fix,and mixed color bags preferable!! in large quantities.
Also, what would you say is the best glue? I have used the one that looks like super glue and is in an orange and black tube, but i have also hear of gemtak??
Do you suggest any particular way of encrusting ,say with tweezers, and devices?
Thanks for everyone's help recently, really appreciated it.

Hi Starla!
Good luck with your crafty endeavours. Insider tips on the best ways of doing these tricky bits can be hard to come by at times, owing to those already crafting (pasties etc) for a full/part-time business keeping their trade secrets to themselves!
All the best, hun.

I've used gem tac for attaching hotfix stones onto pvc shoes but not onto fabric, worked well on the shoes as long as you don't use too much. Dab a bit on with a toothpick and carefully place your crystal where you want it, push down slightly with another toothpick and voila!

Hi Starla
I've recently embarked on embellishing my costumes and came across a website called Preciosa, Pearls, Rhinestones, Rhinestones Shapes, Rhinestuds, Nailheads, Motifs, Rhinestone Glue, Kandi Kane applicator and they are super quick on delivery! They trade mostly in rhinestones and also do preciosa which work out cheaper but more or less give the same effect as crystals and they also sell the hot fix applicator which is a really nifty little device for fixing ready glued stones.
Happy embellishing!!

Oh yes - you must get a Kandi Kane - I've had mine for a couple of years now and they are fab!!!! I must warn you though, you will be covering everything in crystals - someone lock the puppy up!!!!!

I really want a Kandi Kane.
But at the same time I am saving up for a Vivien of Holloway dress AND I need to get loads of bits for my up and coming routine. Though I guess I could use the Kandi Kane on my outfit?

That's how I've justified buying one. Now just need to work out what parts of the costume I'll need to add it too
